Haste Garden Polo Director's Chair
Polo director's chair is a very stable lightweight chair that folds side-to-side with a scissors action. It is an excellent design - simple and ideally suited to its function – and it goes back to coffer-makers' chairs of the 15th century and eventually to the Roman curule chair.
The seat and back are made of strong Batyline fabric which bears the user's full weight and can be folded; the frame is made of robinia wood. The seat and scissors members work together to support and distribute the sitter's weight so that the seat is comfortably taut.
The textile used in Haste Garden furniture is Batyline ISO 62 manufactured by Ferrari. The textile remains fresh even when rapidly drying in full sun. The thermo fixation process ensures exceptional tear resistance. The composition of Batyline yarns ensures long-term colour fastness stability.
Haste Garden furniture use Robinia wood commonly called acacia. Robinia is a first resistance class wood which makes it extremely versatile for outdoor furniture. All the wood used in the manufacture of these furniture is sourced from Europe and is 100% FSC certificated.
If left to age naturally outside by being exposed to light, air and rain, then the surface of the Robinia wood will gradually change to a soft, silver-grey as the pigments in the surface layer of the wood start to fade away. It is recommended to let the wood weather to a natural grey or oil to maintain the rich tones.
